Art for Everyone

Tue Jun 17, 2014, 3:51 PM by renonevada:iconrenonevada:
"To shop, perchance to buy. Aye, there's the art,
For in deviantART, what Prints may ship,
Whether fine art, canvas, or calendar,
Must give us joy."
-Billiam Shakespeare
I remember when I received my first set of deviantART Prints. This was many years ago, well before we started selling Fine Art or Canvas Prints. I bought a couple of my own deviations to see what the quality would be like, but, more than that, I wanted to see what my art looked like in print. Boy, was I blown away! Digitally coloring an image and seeing it on my computer was a far cry from holding the professionally printed art in my hands. After that, I've been hooked and have purchased many Prints on deviantART from many of my favorite artists.

One of the best things about deviantART is the sheer variety of art available. Any genre you can think of is represented here, and if it can be printed, chances are you can find it.

Yes, we have all of that, and more.

The greenest of beginners can add their art into our Prints Shop and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned professionals.  With the range of products we offer and uploads at the click of a button, it couldn’t be easier to become a part of the largest shops for original art online or off.

We are living in an artistic renaissance for the digital age. The arts are flourishing like never before, with both digital and traditional tools becoming more accessible, and the ease of bringing one’s art to the public making it easy for people across the globe to view and enjoy. This is a terrific reason to have as many products as possible on our end available to you, the artists and art appreciators. There is truly something for everyone.

Fine Art

Our Fine Art Prints are giclée Prints on a heavy stock paper. These matte Prints are beautiful rolled or in either of the two frames that we offer.

Canvas

Canvas Prints are printed directly on the same canvas that painters use. This will give any image a unique texture. Whether you choose to have them printed rolled, wrapped on a stretcher bar, or framed,  the resulting Print is breathtaking and classic.

Our Photo Prints are beautifully faithful replications of your art using high quality photo paper.

Art Gifts

The deviantART Prints Shop has more than art to display on your walls. Greeting Cards, Mugs, Coasters, and more allow you to take the art you love off the walls and into your everyday life. One of my favorites is the Calendar, where an artist can compile their favorite images into a single product for sale, but there are a ton of different Art Gift options to browse through.

If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him. -John F. Kennedy
Looking to the future, we would like to add even more quality products to our Shop. We've had a number of requests over the years but only recently have we been in a position to truly expand the shop and offer these new products. We want to know what would make you say "I would love to see my art on that!"

Questions for the reader:

1. What new products would you love to see?

2. Does this "digital renaissance" help fuel your passion to improve your art? How have you experienced it in your art life?

3. Have you purchased Prints of your own art yet? If so, what was it like when you unboxed the finished product?

4. As a potential buyer, do you prefer a Shop where you can view all art, or would you prefer a curated gallery of only our best work?

1. I'd like to be able to print tees and even on glass ware!

2. Yes it actually does.

3. um. No I haven't but I'd very much like to.

4. And I would prefer a shop where you can view all art because not everyone's preferences are the same.

Thank you! ^^

1. What new products would you love to see?
- Stickers are always fun. Especially if they can be cut into shapes. Card-sized artwork would also be cool, or even enabling artists to create whole decks of custom designed cards.

2. Does this "digital renaissance" help fuel your passion to improve your art? How have you experienced it in your art life?

- Not really. I draw what and when I feel like, and if it's good, that's great but if it's not, it's not so bad. Although, tablets are awesome. It's like having photoshop on paper.

3. Have you purchased Prints of your own art yet? If so, what was it like when you unboxed the finished product?

- Not yet although I have used points earlier to purchase others' products. It was a nice feeling.

4. As a potential buyer, do you prefer a Shop where you can view all art, or would you prefer a curated gallery of only our best work?
- I would prefer a way to somehow easily find what I'm looking for, so categories and tags and whatnot, maybe even something like color scheme could be helpful to organize. I would prefer to see good to amazing quality drawings first, because when I first buy it has to be something that perfectly fits with the image I'm looking for.

It is wonderful to see so many artists and their diverse talents. I look at the arts and this inspires me to get better and better. Someday I would like to buy an art mine to see how it looks on my wall.
DA is to be congratulated! :)

1. It would be really cool, I think, to sell stickers of artwork, so the image can be wherever you (as the buyer) wants it to be; laptops, for example.

2. The "digital renaissance" doesn't really fuel my passion to improve my art, just manipulate and work with it in new, interesting ways. I like to paint and draw on canvas or paper, and the digital world available is just as exciting to work with. I have played with both methods, but I think I'm still very new at the whole spectrum, and can't yet say how it has affected me.

3. I have not--in fact, it really didn't occur to me to do so until I read this entry. I think I'll give that a go, seeing as that could tell me better than a computer screen could what kind of product I would actually be selling to other art lovers.

4. Honestly, I think both would be a good idea to have, perhaps as separate options. Sometimes, I like to look at the best of the best. Then again, I also sometimes find that my interpretation of "the best" differs from the majority.

1. What new products would you love to see?
I like the selection that you have right now, although I'm sure other people will have great suggestions.

2. Does this "digital renaissance" help fuel your passion to improve your art? How have you experienced it in your art life?
Yes!! The first time I ordered prints of my photos, which I had been used to only viewing on a screen, I was blown away! It was so exciting to have my own work hanging on my walls. Discovering larger prints was a whole other experience as well. It's amazing to see your own pieces blown up so large and in such high quality.

3. Have you purchased Prints of your own art yet? If so, what was it like when you unboxed the finished product?
Not from deviantArt (yet), but from other sources certainly. It was so fun to look through them and to show them to others. I feel like it's easier to take the time to look over something and appreciate it more fully with a physical copy.

4. As a potential buyer, do you prefer a Shop where you can view all art, or would you prefer a curated gallery of only our best work?
I definitely prefer to see all art. I like a lot of variety and choices--and not everyone can agree on what's "best."

I'm curious why the Puzzles have been removed from the shop. And I have heard that you are going to remove the small prints from the shop, is that true? :nuu:
I have tons of small prints and I will be pretty sad if I won't be able to buy them anymore, since I prefer the small prints over the big prints.

3. Have you purchased Prints of your own art yet? If so, what was it like when you unboxed the finished product?
Yes, I bought 2 Mugs and a Postcard, it was pretty amazing to see the finished product. :giggle:

4. As a potential buyer, do you prefer a Shop where you can view all art, or would you prefer a curated gallery of only our best work?
I think it would be the best to have both, being able to see all prints and to have a place for "featured Prints".  It would be boring just to see the "best work" and we all don't have the same taste. ;)

There have been a couple of changes to our products recently, yeah. Unfortunately, our Puzzle product wasn't selling well at all, so we were forced to remove it from our shop.

This link can explain the discontinuation of the small prints better than I could: sta.sh/0sqe6ji5hdn

The good part about this "spring cleaning" is that we can begin looking to the future and expanding our product line with more types of products that could hopefully be more popular. :)

In regards to #4, I totally get where you are coming from. I approve prints at the beginning of every day and at least once there is a print that I'm surprised sold. Everybody's taste is indeed different.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have a standard printed box to link since I don't think it have ever been done before, by anyone (that I know of). But since a box basically has 6 rectangles I'm thinking along the line of artists could pick which picture to go on which side, or just pick one side (the lid, perhaps) and leave the rest solid colored. Alternately you could also go with cylinder boxes, it would be the same deal with mugs (and pen holders, which are like skinny mugs without handles). I imagine a cylinder box would look like this: www.usbox.com/images/sm-HB-126… , with picture printed around the body and a solid colored lid (it could also have DA's icon printed on the center of the lid or the bottom).

1] Get another pay method besides CC and paypal like Ideal not evryone in my country has a CC or paypal but they all can use ideal.
www.ideal.nl/en/ .

2]Not really most people favour but can't / don't say why they actually like or dislike something.

3] done that once other company , they accepted ideal :D , and i realised what you seen on screen is different when you print it 60*40cm ..

4]all art if you only put the ones you like in the shop , you never sell the ones that other people like :D

I wouldn't mind seeing a T-Shirt, or maybe like Bed Sheets. That would be really cool, or maybe a cover for your chair at Home. It indeed does fuel my passion to make my Art better, but I also feel Art is something you can't "perfect". I'm trying not to push myself too hard. I've not bought my own Art yet, however, I always keep a printed copy in my Binder. Which I carry around with me every day, so I can show people offline. I would very much enjoy, seeing all Art. I would enjoy getting new ideas for myself, and supporting those with different skills then my own.

On clocks? That is an interesting idea. Do you have any links or examples of what you are thinking of specifically?

Also, most of the art submitted here is in a form of rectangle. If it was a round clock, that could potentially crop out a large portion of an artists image. I believe cropping issues, like partially cut off signatures, may increase if that happens.

I've bought prints of my own photographs for hanging at the Image City Photography Gallery in Rochester, NY, mostly fine art prints that I matte and frame myself.  The fine art prints are superb.  I bought one wrapped canvas of my late sister-in-law and her husband as a gift.  It also was very well done.

I bought a few in the new black frames.  They look good, but I don't consider the frames gallery quality. I would love to see some in a simple, black anodized aluminum Nielson from with glass instead of acrylic.  The acrylic attracts dust like mad.

The ebony block frames are excellent.  I've gotten art prints in those.  I'm saving my pennies to try some canvas prints in the block frames.  That should be a winning combination.

Keep up the good work.

I will forward the frame suggestion along. The Gallery frames that we currently offer are lower priced prints compared to what you are suggesting, which is one of the major draws to it. While it is less expensive, the frames themselves are definitely a quality product, especially for the price.

Canvas prints in the Block frames are definitely a terrific option. I doubt you will be disappointed. :)
