Product Spotlight: Photo PrintsHello again! This time we're going to talk about the most popular product that we sell:
No, not that!
Photo prints will give you an amazing quality image without spending a fortune. It is also the most versatile in sizes, from very small prints all the way up to large poster sized products.
From FAQ 186: Prints utilizes all silver traditional photo processing, the same that you'd see in a photo finishing shop. We print on high quality Kodak Edge and Kodak Endura papers, which will last up to 200 years without fading.
Yes, you heard right. Up to 200 years. And not dog years, either.
We have 3 different photo print finishes. Each of these prints were also photographed on a glass covered table so you can see what could be reflected on each print.
The Glossy option is perfect for detailed/technical prints or photograph
Product Spotlight: Postcards and Greeting Cards
Who doesn't love getting mail? Too often these days the only people that write to us are the ones we owe money to. It has become a rare surprise to get something personal in the mail. Why not send a card to that friend in that town where you used to live? Why not send them an amazing piece of art along with it?
You can do both together with either a Postcard or a Greeting Card!
Our postcards are printed on heavy card stock that every good postcard should have. The front of the postcard will have a highly detailed vivid print that looks so good it should be framed.
The back of the postcard is extremely minimal, with the left side blank to put your thoughts, and the right side pre-lined for the address. There is even a small rectangle ready for a stamp to be placed!
Of course, as artists, you may wish to use all of that white space to dra
Prints 101: Editing your PrintsHello again, it's renonevada with another article about how to make sure your prints are the best they can be.
This time I'm going back to Prints 101 and tell you how to edit existing prints and add prints to deviations that already exist. This is a frequent question in the Help Desk and in the printscommunity.
Most of these instructions will apply to submitting a new deviation as well. A brief article was written about new submit here, if you would like to check that out here.
Editing your Print
If you have a deviation with a print already enabled, you will see the button below right on the deviation page, which looks like the image below.
Click that button and you will be taken directly to the Edit page for that print.
You will notice that a few sizes have been pre-selected for you. Those are defaults that deviantART chooses based on the size of you
Art for Everyone"To shop, perchance to buy. Aye, there's the art,
For in deviantART, what Prints may ship,
Whether fine art, canvas, or calendar,
Must give us joy."
I remember when I received my first set of deviantART Prints. This was many years ago, well before we started selling Fine Art or Canvas Prints. I bought a couple of my own deviations to see what the quality would be like, but, more than that, I wanted to see what my art looked like in print. Boy, was I blown away! Digitally coloring an image and seeing it on my computer was a far cry from holding the professionally printed art in my hands. After that, I've been hooked and have purchased many Prints on deviantART from many of my favorite artists.
One of the best things about deviantART is the sheer variety of art available. Any genre you can think of is represented here, and if it can be printed, chances are you can find it.

Prints Tips: Cropping and the Bleed EdgeHello, everybody! I'm renonevada. For those that don't know, one of my jobs here at deviantART HQ is as quality control for prints. I look at every print before it is purchased for the first time to make sure that it will print properly. Some of the things I look out for are copyright infringement, cropping, pixelation, and to make sure it doesn't violate other policies, such as being too pornographic.
I plan on making a series of journals explaining how to make sure your prints will be approved when they get to me. I know that I'm excited to see the notification letting me know a print has been sold and I want to do what I can to make sure you all see it, as well.
For this journal, I want to speak about Cropping and the Bleed Edge.
This is hands down the number 1 reason why I am forced to reject a print, which in turn will cancel a sale. Because of this, I have tried to make this journal as detailed as possible.
The Bleed Edge is the v
Calendars- Updating the Cover YearAll of our Calendars are always updated with the current year automatically. Every July, our Calendar Gnomes refresh our calendars with the next years dates so no matter when you purchase a calendar it will be relevant.
Adding a date to the cover of a calendar certainly adds to the professionalism to the design, as most, if not all calendars sold have the dates on the covers.
With deviantART, the images will stay in our Prints Shop year after year, so while the calendar may have the correct dates and year on the inside, the calendar cover may show a previous years date. Unfortunately, this may lead to confusion with potential buyers concerning the product they may receive.
Here are two current examples of 2014 calendar products.
Both are beautiful examples of what we have in our shop and both also have this years date on them.
When July 2014 hits, which it will invariably do, the 2014 dates will n
Product Spotlight: Mousepads
Chances are you own a computer, or you know someone who owns a computer, and attached to that computer is a mouse. No, I don't have any special psychic powers to know any of this, and yes, I did put 'computer' in that first sentence 3 different times.
For this article we will be discussing mousepads!
Our mousepads are 7.75 inches tall by X 9.25 inches wide and are 1/4 inch thick. The pad itself is a highly dense polyester foam, which is bendable and can be rolled.
As you can see from the image above, our mousepads do have rounded corners. If you have any important text or other elements on those four corners, I would suggest moving them, if possible, to ensure that text is not cropped when printed. Here is an article that goes more in-depth about cropping:
Is Your Email Address Correct?Hi everybody,
I just wanted to post a quick journal bout an important aspect of both buying and selling here on deviantART, your email address. Please make sure that it is correct to ensure you get all of your emails.
To do this, hover your pointer over your username at the top of the screen, then click Settings in the menu that drops down.
Once there, click on General and then on the "Change email" link, if necessary.
THIS is the direct link.
If you are a seller, you will receive your Rejected and Approved prints emails there with information on why a rejection may have occurred.
If you are a buyer, You will get promotional emails and other such awesomeness, as well. You will also receive all of your transactional emails there, from the "We have received your order" one all the way to the "Your Super Awesome Prints of Great Taste and Skill have shipped out!"
If you have not received an e

Seniority Announcements - January 2013
This article marks the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 1000 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many other

1. Art is Personal
Every day, daily deviations are featured, artist interviews are posted, and countless journals of thumbnails published. Every single day, community members, volunteers and staff, all come together and share in a love of art. It doesn't always go well and sometimes a piece of artwork I adore, strikes the wrong chord with someone. However, regardless of the message received the artwork achieved the goal of becoming personal and striking an emotion and there are no rules that state this emotion should always be happy and fluffy. I'm personally inspired by a different kind of image, one that challenges my feelin

Hey all. Welcome to the Recommend A Friend Project. This journal's purpose will be to describe this little project, and to tell you information about signing up. Please be sure to read all the following information carefully in order for things to run smoothly. If you'd like to spread word about this project or even just favorite this journal so it reaches a larger audience, it would be most appreciated!
Basically, I noticed a part of my profile seemed a little blank, so I decided to create a custom box on my page dedicated to featuring deviants of all talents weekly . The box will feature a recommended friend, and the deviant that recommended them. It will also include a tidbit about the recommended friend, including why you should check them out Each duo will be up for a week, and at the end of the month, I will collect all of th
Changes to the Prints Agreement
As part of a general review of the Prints Program we noticed that the Prints Agreement needed clarity.
We changed the way in which we describe pricing because we have changed the way in which pricing is displayed during the submission process.
We also wanted to clearly explain the impact of promotional offers on the Artist Profit.
More than two years ago we blended the Premium Print Program with the Premium Membership (they used to be different). We have now updated the language in order to better distinguish the differences between Premium and Standard Print Program features in the Prints Agreement. Finally, we fixed some word choices and grammar to make the Agreement a better read.
To compare the new Prints Agreement with the former Prints Agreement click here. (We've provided you with a helpful document that shows all of the language that has
Las Vegas deviantMEET Wrap-Up!
Our first-ever deviantMEET in Las Vegas hit the jackpot!
On Sunday, December 1st, deviants were already lined up outside the doors at 5:00 PM, even though the event wasn't scheduled to start until 5:30! (A handful of amazingly dedicated super deviants arrived as early as 3:30 PM!) Far be it for us to wait to get the party started, so we opened the doors a little early, allowing the crowd to rush in. After signing our guestbook – we know, physical guestbooks are so Web 1.0, but they're great mementos! – our devious artists dispersed to play at the deviantART booth.
Stocked with six Intuos 5 Wacom tablets to play with, a 24-inch Cintiq, SketchBook Pro for sketching and painting, enough table seating for traditional drawing and portfolio review, and bags upon bags of free swag (including stress balls, deviantART Sharpies, and tons of free stickers), everyone found an awesome and creative way to spend their time.
Keep in Touch!
