Print is of touched up image only.

More touch up practice. :) Changed quite a bit with this, from cheek shape, adding upper lip and accentuating lip colors and texture, added secondary light source, lots and lots of highlights and lowlights to the hair to give it a bit less of a wig-like feel, basic blemish and freckle removal, color change and other such things.

This took a while, but I'm still experimenting with how I want to get it done. Mostly, I've used the overlay and soft light layer styles. They give a very dynamic and natural feel to accentuated lighting. Of course it helps to have a fabulous picture to start with too, courtesy of ~TearzStock :D

Definitely a late post , but I was just searching "adding highlights" looking for a tutorial to add colored highlights to black hair ... ANYWAY ...

The picture looks great , except for one thing - her nose in the touched up version is oddly shaped now with the second light source added ... it's almost like you gave it more shape (odd shape)

other than that ... great job - i really like the detail and work that went in to this .

killer retouch, I love the shading and highlights in the hair and especially the face. You really made it gave it that extra "oomph!"
